Last year, our local Walmart moved over exclusively to automated checkouts. Not two days ago I almost walked out of the store with a cartload of groceries - without paying! I was tired and confused after a long day in town, and after being helped by a clerk to process my sale, I mistakenly thought I'd paid at the end of the transaction. I only noticed my error when I stopped to check my receipt before leaving the store and realized... I didn't have one!
