Advertisers used to manipulate our human emotions to get us to buy stuff.

But it seems even ads are changing, being made to appeal to a more and more materialistic group of consumers.

In fact, as the whole Bud-lite episode showed us, huge corporations seem willing to immolate themselves to promote a social agenda instead of their product.

In my more optimistic moments, I like to think this is a sign of the end - not The End of the World, just The End of the World As We Know It.

Things will probably get worse before they get better, but I take every new outrage as a sign that we're closer than ever to rounding the corner.

That's where introspection gets you - around that corner.

I'm a recovering addict and one of the best pieces of advice that I've heard regarding coping with basic insanity is, "In your worst moments, be still. Just stop and be still."
