It's funny you mention the addiction of technology, because in my recent interview with Dave Sim the creator of the comic Cerebus, He talks about the drug of technology and wanting to stay sane so he didn't embrace it like others did. I'll be posting that video either today or tomorrow.
I've also been getting back to doing traditional work drawing with pencil and paper and inking.. I've also been getting back into reading and building up my library.
While my writing and art haven't made me money, I find it more fulfilling then money. All money is good for is trading it for goods and services.
Yes, but have you seen how much those art supplies cost? There are two types of stores that I love wandering around, and where I would (if I could) spend limitless amounts of money, which are: art supplies stores and old book stores. But old books cost little and you can get good deals. Art supplies on the other hand, especially for oil painting, not so much... :D
Well, at least I've learned to prepare my own canvas, which saves some money. You can also make your own pigments, although I haven't tried that yet.
Haha, oh yeah I forgot how much oil paints cost. Yeah we really should get back to making our own art supplies. My medium is pencil, pen & ink which cost considerably less then oil paints. Those are the two stores, I adore too.
